Miss Augusta, Missouri’s premier yacht, is now hiring a Sous Chef. Miss Augusta offers daily public cruises as well as private events and weddings. We are seeking highly energetic professional staff with a positive attitude and a passion for the outdoors and the water! The boat features sightseeing excursions, daytime, and sunset cruises. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and some holidays. All food is cooked and prepared fresh on board. We are looking for someone with creative ideas and who can bring first class dining to the operation. Duties to include performing daily culinary responsibilities, assisting the Head Chef in preparing lunch and dinner cruises as well as private functions. Must be able to manage timing, quantities, and multiple tasks. Must have the ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards, with the opportunity for some personal creativity to create menus year-round for events held on the boat. Duties also include interacting with customers, bartending and other front of the house duties as needed. Responsible for hygiene and maintaining food standards in all stages of food handling. Serv Safe certified is required. Must be a self-starter, problem solver and work well with fellow team members. Ideal candidate is someone friendly and personable with guests, and has enthusiasm, drive, and passion for the service industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully assist the team in delivering outstanding service is essential to the role. Candidate must pass pre-employment background and drug screen and remain drug free as all employees are a part of the maritime consortium and will be randomly tested throughout the year. Hours vary and include days, evenings, and holidays. Restaurant experience is required. Miss Augusta is currently docked at the Yacht Club of St. Louis in north St. Charles, MO, and will be relocating to the Klondike Park Boat Ramp in Augusta, MO this fall.
