What is the Living Undeterred Tour
The Living Undeterred Tour is a 95-day cross country mental health initiative. Every 2 minutes one person dies from overdose, suicide or alcoholism in the United States. These people are our children, our spouses, our siblings, our parents, our neighbors, and our friends. For founder, Jeff Johnston, it was his son, Seth, who died of fentanyl poisoning in 2016. It was also his wife of 21 years, Prudence, who died from alcoholism in 2021.
What we are doing is not working. It is time to make a change. Jeff and his team are traveling across the United States to meet people where they are, to explore new ideas for combating these epidemics, to share stories and begin to break down the stigmas, and to work together toward change.
What to Expect At The Event:
Speakers:
Keynote speaker, Jeff Johnston will share the story of losing a child to fentanyl poisoning, and a wife to alcoholism, and how he has turned these tragedies into inspiration to erase the stigma around addiction and mental health.
Panel Discussion:
A team of panelists will answer audience questions about what they are doing in the community to bring awareness and effect change around suicide and substance use disorders in the veteran community.
