Description

Please spread the word! Mona (Lisa) was LOST on August 11, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA 70809 near Cypress Lake Apt Blvd & Reiger Rd Message from Owner: Mona acts tough but she's a baby - my baby. Trying to keep my panic attacks down but it's getting harder. I've lost my appetite and can't sleep since Mona got out. Hoping she'll trust someone to help her. You may get her trust with white rice! If she chooses to trust you, please don't clip her wings! Description: Blue Quaker parrot. Light underbelly. Responds to Mona/Moni/Monita. Full name - Mona Lisa. Talks bilingual (english/spanish). Fully flighted *wings purposely not clipped*. Learned how to open her cage on 8/9/22 @6pm while she was on the porch. Has since been tracked flying between Cypress Lake apmts and the wooded area to the right of the apmts, close to the Amazon employee parking lot. Last sighted in a tree by my apmt on 8/11/22 @620am before being spooked by another bird and I lost track of her. Last heard on 8/11/22 @10pm in another tree by my apmt as well. I don't have children - she is my child. Got her in 2016 before she had all of her feathers and had to hand-feed her formula because she wasn't weened. She's 6 years old now and we are both completely bonded. My heart is broken thinking of a future without her. Please help me by keeping an eye to the trees. If a light-blue bird is there, it could be her. She is desperately trying to come but there are many birds of prey in the area. She has survived 2 hawk hunts already that I'm aware of. She may decide / have decided that the area is not safe to stay in because of this and could travel farther away. Her listening to her instincts has proven to be what has kept her alive, so I trust they will continue to do that. I made the mistake of playing videos of her calling/talking; not knowing that it would attract a hawk (the first hunt she survived). If you see her, please don't make the same mistake. I recorded a video of me and my grandma calling to her and will add the link here in case you see her and want to attract her closer. https://youtube.com/shorts/ABz9Vep0HCI?feature=share This link will show you what she sounds like, in case you hear her. https://youtu.be/4LnfvYTsrT4 She is usually really loud but this isn't normal for her. If there are hawks in the area, or if she is scared for some reason, she will stay completely quiet to not attract attention. Please do not play this video outside where it could attract hawks. She was always fully flighted indoors so she never had any experience with hawks or rain, which is why she hasn't felt safe to come down from the trees near me. There's been a LOT of both this week. She is very easily spooked, especially now. At this point, desperation for a safe place and food could drive her to land on or near someone she deems safe. If she chooses you, please do not clip her wings! For more info or to contact Mona (Lisa)'s owner, click here: https://www.pawboost.com/p/8211678 Lost or found a pet?
