The Volunteer Council has funded various projects on the CHDC campus, including recreational activities on and off campus, the parent houses, therapeutic pool, visitation complex, rod-iron fencing, metal awning covers around campus (providing important shelter for the individuals, as many of them use wheelchairs), new park, pavilion, new audio/video system for gymnasium and Christmas decorations and gifts for the residents. This year's goal is set at $25,000. Money raised from this year’s 5K will go towards onsite Hippotherapy for all residents. The CHDC Volunteer Council is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the goal of funding various activities and projects that help improve the center and the quality of life of the individuals we serve. All donations are tax-deductible and a donation receipt will be provided.
