Summer is nearly over and we need a record number of volunteers this 2022-23 school year! We are powered by over 100 weekly volunteers with our first packing shift of the year on August 30th with fun one-off stuff up until then :) Help us hit the ground running! You will help pack 70 or more bags that go out that week to kids suffering from homelessness or housing insecurity in King County. Many students rely on our bags. We are the largest organization whose sole mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to schools, we feed 3,000 kids per week to get from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast without a single stomach growl. Make an impact in your community today! On Tuesdays and Thursdays, volunteers arrive between 8:00 am and 9:30 am. Your duties typically take about an hour and a half. We serve 78 schools in Seattle, Renton, Highline, Bellevue, and everywhere in between. Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo and Filson on 1st Avenue South Seattle. Please consider becoming a weekly packer for Backpack Brigade. With recent expansions into new districts, we are at our limit and don’t have the heart to turn anyone away.
