Feeling Old and In The Way?

Hi, I am a guitar playing singer songwriter from Washington, DC who has recently moved to the Charleston area(I know, another northern invader...I hate me too, but have you met my wife? I go where she goes. It's part of the package.). Anyway, I am of a certain age where what I really enjoy about music is hanging with like minded/skilled folks(of any age), and swapping songs, stories, musings, licks, opinions, recipes, etc. and perhaps enjoying a cold beverage or two. Having been a small time(yet oh so professional) performer off and on since 1987, a guitar teacher since 2005, and a live music venue owner/operator 2013-2020 I really can't tell you that I aspire to anything more than just playing music for the joy of it. If a get together morphs into something more, then so be it. I'd be happy to do some low key gigging, and I definitely want to do some more writing and recording. But for now, I'd be content just to hang and get my smile on in my new environs with some easy, talented folks. I don't feel that "old" or "in the way," but I got no problem being either.
