Part/Time Horse Groom

Position 1: part time groom at a dressage facility. Days needed are normally Tuesday - Saturday (but can be flexible) and hours can vary 4-6 hours a day. Could potentially be two or three days with 6-8 hours day. Also possibility for full time work and/or potential other duties depending on the individual. Duties include: Tacking/untacking horses Laundry Cleaning tack Cleaning buckets, sweeping, etc. No stall cleaning required but may need help feeding/turnout horses occasionally. Position 2: PM feeder 3-4 nights a week. Hours vary with the season but typically 5-7pm with a possible full weekend day; Duties during the week include: Bringing in horses from turnout Feeding hay and grain Blanketing and taking blankets off Checking water and monitoring horses for any unusual behavior Weekend duties (6:30-1pm) Feeding AM hay and grain Cleaning barn aisle Turnout Cleaning a few run-in sheds Feeding lunch and switching horses from turnout. Must have extensive horse experience and be kind and confident around the horses. Must be reliable, patient, on time and a self motivator. Cleanliness is also a must.
