Sit back and relish the intimate lyricism of Franz Schubert, the spellbinding virtuosity of Franz Liszt as well as an enthralling blend of the two composers in Liszt’s transcriptions of Schubert’s Lieder (art songs). Also featured on the program are Liszt’s riveting rendition of Wagner’s “Isolde’s Liebstod” from Tristan und Isolde and his brilliant Concert Paraphrase of Verdi’s Rigoletto.
