We have two available positions, Dismantler & Parts Inventory Specialist Title: Dismantler Pay: based on experience General Summary: Dismantles vehicles inside the shop. Performs complete dismantle procedure as defined by management including vehicle hulk and part inspection for quality control, removal of pollutants and hazardous material according to environmental requirements, removal, and stocking of inspected parts for inventory. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Good Work ethic. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 1. The most important part of the dismantling job is quality control and part inspection 2. Remove and properly dispose of fluids including oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, gasoline, diesel, and anti-freeze 3. Evacuate refrigerant from vehicle air conditioning systems 4. Remove mercury switches from vehicles equipped with these devices 5. Removal and proper handling of battery and catalytic converter 6. Actual dismantling of the vehicle including removal of all inventoried parts listed on the dismantling report, and quality inspection of inventoried parts remaining on vehicle hulk 7. Removal of core parts that are not inventoried 8. Tagging and identifying parts with stock numbers 9. Resolving part interchange numbers on dismantler report 10. Stocking of parts designated to go onto warehouse racks inside and outside 11. Complete one vehicle before starting another 12. Keep work area clean and safe a. Maintain tools and equipment and regularly inspect for problems b. Put away parts after each vehicle c. Take out cores after each vehicle d. Pick up debris from the previous vehicle and put it in appropriate dumpsters 13. Record keeping including dismantling reports and incentive pay records 14. Turn in dismantling reports after each vehicle 15. Dismantler may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week Qualification Required: Education: High School Graduate preferred. Training in any automotive program is a benefit. Experience: Must have 2 years of mechanic experience. Removal and reinstallation of engines, transmissions, and major drive-train are highly valuable. Collision repair experience and knowledge of types of damage that can or can not be repaired are highly valuable. Use of refrigerant evacuators, training on a forklift, use of a torch, and cutting Sawzall. Tools: Essential to have a complete set of standards and metrics, both hand tools and impact grade sockets. Licenses: Certified in refrigerant evacuation. Forklift certification. Training and certification are available. Report to: Production Manager or Supervisor Title: Parts Inventory Specialist Pay: based on experience General Summary: 1. Inspect incoming and dismantled vehicles, and determine the quality of parts. 2. Accurately identify parts based on a series of options, select correct options on handheld devices, and grade quality based on ARA standards. 3. Update inventory data on the inventory management system. 4. Audit stock levels in the warehouse. 5. Assist with part selection and shipping as needed 6. Assist with pricing. 7. Provide input for process improvement 8. Team with dismantling, shipping, and quality control teams to maintain customer expectations. Requirements: 1-3 years' direct automotive parts experience. 1-3 years' direct automotive body parts experience Strong problem-solving skills. Can work independently with confidence and is detailed oriented Can quickly learn and understand vehicle part assemblies. Ability to understand damage codes and accurately grade parts and part assemblies. Displays collaborative attitude and team spirit even in the face of adversity. Significant computer skills including web browsers, Microsoft Office ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel), email clients, mobile devices, and online web applications. Proven experience solving problems, ability to evaluate and prioritize issues, accurately prescribe recommendations and solutions. Experience with Inventory Management Systems such as HYMS, Powerlink, Pinnacle, or, CheckMate.
