In partnership with the Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum, and thanks to generous community sponsorships, the library has selected Colorado author Pam Houston's memoir Deep Creek: Finding Hope in the High Country for this year’s One Book One Littleton program.
Houston's memoir explores the concept of “home” while exploring issues that are particularly relevant to Westerners, including managing fire, development and wildlife.
Deep Creek brings you inside Pam Houston’s impulsive decision to purchase a 120-acre ranch near Creede, Colorado, and offers vivid descriptions of tending the land for the next 25 years. Houston’s strength and open heart are inspiring as she describes caring for everything from miniature donkeys to an abandoned elk calf and from the barn to the Earth itself. An award-winning author, Houston’s books include Cowboys Are My Weakness and Contents May Have Shifted.
