You are invited to Meet Your Candidates Town Hall event at the New Albany Central Library branch. The Library is asking all candidates running this fall to join us for an evening of refreshments and light conversation with community members. The mix-n-mingle format gives an opportunity for introductions and to present your elevator speech and quick community input to what is important to them.
The town hall event is part of our program series, A More Perfect Union, made possible through a grant from the Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities. This grant establishes that recipients will hold programming that fosters civic engagement and discussions. We are utilizing this occasion to highlight and address social issues that affect us as a community and what we can do to help with these issues. This grant has afforded a yearlong engagement opportunity, allowing the Library, in conjunction with IUS, to host monthly book discussions that present various community social topics.
