Black Space is a FREE community event for Black people to get in touch with a therapist in a group setting of 12. Black Space is a community and cultural healing circle of emotional emancipation and connection. Black Space is an in-person space dedicated to encouraging the mental wellness of Black Womxn, Black LGBTQIA+, and Black Mxn. Starting January 30th and 31st, first we will be conducting a very safe and healthy meetup, with PPE accessible for everyone. Saturday, January 30th -10:00am to 12:30pm for Black Womxn -1:30pm to 3:00pm for Black LGBTQIA+ -4:00pm to 6:30pm for Black MXN Sunday, January 31th -10:00am to 12:30pm for Black Womxn -1:30pm to 3:00pm for Black LGBTQIA+ -4:00pm to 6:30pm for Black MXN Registration open NOW! This group session will be lead by Dr. Lia Knox. Dr. Knox received her Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Knox is often presented as an expert psychologist on various local and national television and radio programs. She is currently the “Resident Psychologist” and “Web Doctor” for the magazine entitled “GIRLFRIENDS Health Guide for Women of Color” and has also been featured as a contributing author in “UMOJA” magazine and referenced in JET Magazine (2012).
