lyricist looking to help rock band

Kind of a shot in the dark.. I am NOT a musician- specifically I write lyrics. (I'm a novelist with some background in poetry.) In the past I worked with a musician where we would develop songs together- I would primarily write the lyrics and he would come up with the melody and music. This worked surprisingly well considering I have no background in music, and lyrics weren't his strong point. We would write by talking about what sort of mood and style we wanted the song to have. It was a really collaborative process. I was hoping to find a band that really wants to write original songs but is maybe struggling with lyrics. I've written lyrics for a variety of different songs (pop, 80s style ballads, musical theater) but was really hoping to find a band that had a sound along the lines of guitar-heavy 90s alternative rock.
