Description
Turtle is a 1 year old Yorkie mix who we rescued from the shelter. He weighs 9.8 lbs. He is a sweet boy who came right up to our volunteers and said, take me with you!
Turtle has quite a bit of puppy energy, but will quickly snuggle in your lap if you are sitting down. He likes to play with stuffed animals and has already claimed every single one that he has found in our house. Sometimes Turtle will lay on his back while he chews on a stuffed animal- it's super cute! Turtle will chase a ball if you throw it for him, but has not learned to bring it back to us. He's still got some puppy tendencies in him and may nibble on hands/arms during play, so he will need a bit more training in that regard.
Turtle does well on a leash during walks. He does pull a little bit, but it only requires a couple corrections before he slows down.
Turtle is 99% housetrained. He uses a doggy door to go to the backyard by himself. He has had a couple accidents, which mainly happened on the first few days that he was here. Once he learned to use the doggy door he has been good about going outside almost every time.
Turtle is a little dude with a big personality! He's lovable, snuggly, energetic, friendly, and goofy: pretty much everything you could want in a dog!
