I need a small mechanical repair tomorrow the 15th

I have an older Toyota, (2002), and I put a new alternator on it, and I put a new belt, and I just cannot figure out how to tighten the belt sufficently. I have the new belt on, but just not tight enough. I can pay someone to come by and tighten the belt for me tomorrow. the 15th. I am a retired male, over 70. I am Danny
