All ears, Guardian Whiskers' Book Buddies certified therapy dogs enjoy being read to! Every second Saturday of the month, sign your child up for a free 20-minute reading session to practice reading to one of our therapy dogs in a quiet reading room. Bring a favorite book, or we have books to choose from. We kindly ask that parents, guardians, siblings, and friends wait patiently in our waiting area while the reading session is completed by your child. Our volunteers will help only when needed through difficult words or to maintain the flow of the story, rather than pointing out mistakes. We are not looking for perfection – and neither are the dogs! The Book Buddies provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for children to practice reading aloud at their own pace. We encourage children 5 years and older to participate. **An added Book Buddies Reading Program will take place at the Kendra Scott store, 470 N Midvale Blvd at Hilldale Mall on Saturday, August 27 between 10 am - 12:05 pm.
