For all intents and purposes, MOMCares was a trauma response. Reeling from a six-month NICU stay and numerous near-death experiences with her son in 2014, the Executive Director and Founder of MOMCares wondered how she could help other pregnant women, especially ones with high-risk pregnancies. In 2016, MOMCares began as a Healing Circle, a space centered on self-care and building community for new moms. Now, the organization provides free pregnancy and postpartum doula and infant supplies to mothers in Baltimore City. In August, MOMCares will host Big Latch, an educational series focused on all things breastfeedings. Topic series include how to prepare, breastfeeding basics, common issues, and more!
