This is a great experience for those wanting to experience open water paddling in the Bay. This is planned with optimal safe conditions and current flow in our direction of travel. The entire paddling experience is a little over 6 miles one-way and participants should have good fitness levels. We will launch from the Encinal Beach paddling through Ballena Bay, past Carb Cove + Crown Beach taking a short break at the Tidewater Boating Center while the tides change. Then continue on down the Oakland Channel going under 3 bridges and past Coast Guard Island to the Grand Street Marina. From here participants can taxi back to the Encinal Boat Ramp or setup their own carpool. Prior paddling experience is required; this is not suitable for beginners. We will be using expedition style double sit-in-side kayaks.
