The sanctity of life is at a crossroads in Michigan and nationally. The Supreme Court has overturned it's 1973 Roe v Wade decision which created a right to abortion through all stages of an infant's development. As a result of the overturning of Roe v Wade, many states, Michigan included, will atttempt to codify their states' position on abortion. Michigan has a standing statute that makes abortion illegal (as passed by voters in 1972). Pro-abortion forces however will try to legalize abortion (and in some cases infanticide) through legislation at the state level. Our guest speakers (Barb Engler - President of Right to Life of Michigan and Ed Rivet - President of Right to Life of Ingham County) will bring us up to date on the status of legislation both loally and nationally, and clarify what action we can take to return Michigan to a state where life is valued from conception until natural death.
