On September 10, 2022, the WGPR Historical Society will celebrate the enduring legacy of Blacks in the Media. Our special guest for the evening is sports journalist and ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith. The gala will be held at the beautiful riverfront ICON and will raise money for the expansion of the William V. Banks Broadcast Museum and Media Center. An invitation-only VIP Champagne Reception will take place at the William V. Banks Broadcast Museum and Media Center, 3146 E. Jefferson in Detroit, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. for event sponsors.
