The annual Heirloom Music Festival in western Massachusetts connects different styles of music, fostering a conversation about music, culture, and art. Our theme for this year (2022) is ‘Beethoven’s Blues,’ exploring the feeling of the blues in classical music. This program will feature music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Beethoven and Schubert, and a world-premiere by Kenny Butler, Mercy’s Door for blues guitar and string quartet Professional musicians from around western Massachusetts have come together to make these programs possible. A heartfelt thank you to Kenny Butler, Chris Devine, Ignacy Gaydamovich, Marcia Lehninger, Allyson Michal, and Veronika Schreiber for their inspiring artistry.
