Description
"Autumn Wishes & Puppy Kisses" will be our last Tunes & Shrooms community gathering at Winding Brook Farms - mushrooms & more. We will have a terrific singer, Theresa Eaman, on the farm to share her vocal talents. Theresa Eaman has been performing jazz standards since her early teens. Although a classically trained vocalist, Theresa has branched off to specialize in jazz standards and performing songs from the 20’s - 60’s. A lifetime of appreciation of all the vocal “masters” has enabled her to present the listener with her own renditions of their favorite songs while incorporating the stylings of the original recordings. Her performances celebrate eras where music made people laugh, cry and fall in love. Also, we will be celebrating and remembering our beloved pets by having a rainbow bridge ceremony to honor them. Part of the proceeds from this gathering will be donated to Pawsitive Impact of Monroe. Extra Information for your visit - You can arrive at the farm as early as 6:00 in the evening. There will be various seating areas available around the venue or if you prefer bring a blanket and your own basket of treats to enjoy. Hold harmless waivers will need to be signed by all guests who have not visited the farm before. Areas for parking will be designated with orange cones. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor event so water, bug spray, and sure-footed walking attire are a must. Children are welcome at this event but will need to be supervised. Since this is a fun-raiser an additional "mush love offering" per child would be appreciated. If you want to wear a mask, feel free, as there will not be any judgment here of your choices. Life happens, however, we will not be able to offer ticket refunds. Your ticket will be applied to one of our other community gatherings in the spring or another class, workshop or foray. Rainbow Bridge Ceremony - All visitors will be invited to participate in this ceremony to honor our furry, feathered or ectothermic animal friends that have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. The loss of a companion is often difficult and this ceremony will be treated with deserved compassion and respect. If you can not attend please consider making a donation to Pawsitive Impact as they care for animals in need of food, shelter, and love. Also, if you would like your companion's name to be part of the Rainbow Bridge Ceremony send an email to [email protected]. Make sure the heading clearly states "Rainbow Bridge." Pawsitive Impact North Carolina Dog Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 dog rescue, since August 28th, 2016, serving Monroe, North Carolina and surrounding areas. Mission Statement: Pawsitive Impact NC Dog Rescue is a local 501(c)(3) All Breed Foster Based Rescue that envisions the day when every adoptable dog has a safe, loving, and responsible home. We look forward to a society that values and respects animals, one where people spay and neuter their pets to prevent overpopulation. All rescued dogs are in the care of a volunteer foster in their home until adoption. Pawsitive Impact NC Dog Rescue does not own or operate a shelter facility. Dogs enter the rescue by owner surrenders, abandoned or abused dogs, shelters, etc. The dogs are placed with a foster, taken to the vet, updated on shots/vaccines, dewormed, started on heartworm prevention, started on flea/tick prevention, spayed/neutered, and given any other medical treatment needed. Fosters are desperately needed at this time. We pay for the vetting, dog food, and any supplies needed to care for the foster dog. When the dogs are ready for adoption, adopters submit an adoption application which is screened by calling the vet reference as well as two personal references. All current and past dogs that adopters have had must have a consistent vet record showing that the dogs are up to date on shots/vaccines, spay/neutered, and monthly heartworm prevention as well as flea/tick prevention. A home visit/meet and greet is scheduled and the adoption takes place if the dog and family are the right fit. So far in 2022, we have adopted out 18 dogs, and currently have 29 dogs in rescue, and 5 sanctuary dogs that will be with us for the remainder of their lives. We have 4 heartworm-positive dogs waiting for heartworm treatments and one dog needing mammary gland surgery. The heartworm treatments will be about $900 a piece and the mammary gland surgery is about $2000. In 2021: 77 dogs were in our rescue throughout 2021. All were brought up to date on shots/vaccines, spay/neutered, heartworm treatments when necessary, and other surgeries as advised by the vet. 44 of those dogs were adopted as of December 31, 2021. 7 of those dogs were transferred to other rescues. We had 19 dogs in the rescue waiting for adoption at the end of 2021. Adoption fees do not come close to covering vetting expenses. In 2021: Total collected from adoption fees, $14012 Total spent on vetting, $43511.60 Community support is what makes it possible to save these lives. Having fosters open their homes for the dogs while waiting for their adoption, is what makes it possible to save these lives. We need fosters! www.pincdogrescue.org Facebook: @pincdr Instagram: pincdogrescue [email protected]
