Description
Did you know the gap in the homeownership rate between Black and white families is wider today than it was in 1960? We want to do something about it. It’s time to connect Black families with the housing resources available to them and find solutions that will create equal access to homeownership for all. The National Black Empowerment Council (NBEC), in conjunction with The American Property Owners Alliance, invites you to attend “Preserving Affordability, Parity and Progress in Real Estate for Black Americans” on Saturday, Aug. 20, at The Gathering Spot ATL. Join us as we engage in meaningful discussion with industry experts and learn about the resources available to current and aspiring property owners. Together, we can support and protect the dream of homeownership for all. The free event begins with breakfast and a welcome message. Throughout the morning, experts will discuss credit and financial practices, and how race and gender pay gaps affect Black homeownership. The day will continue with a keynote address from Darius Jones, executive director of the National Black Empowerment Council (NBEC), and an interactive chat examining the effects generational wealth gaps have on families. Lunch will be provided. If you are unable to join us in Atlanta, you will receive a webinar link prior to the event to attend virtually!
