Description
T-Rex is a 2-3 year old Maltese mix who weighs 10.5 lbs. Rex was found as a stray and taken in by a Good Samaritan. They were unable to keep him long term, so after looking for an owner and failing to find one, they surrendered him to our rescue. We don't know his prior history, but we've promised him that his future will be very bright!
T-Rex's name is ironic; he's both petite and rather timid! He's the type of dog who takes a while to warm up and adjust to new people and new situations, but he does not have a mean bone in his little body. He's currently fostered with another dog and while he's happy to coexist, he's not much of a player so far. He's definitely an option to go to a home with other dogs, but he could also be a solo pup.
Rex likes to snuggle in bed with his foster mom at night, so he gets up in the morning when she does, and it's out to the yard for potty time. Rex isn't terribly excited by kibble, so he's more of a grazer. He's a fan of treats, though! He's good on leash, though he can be startled by loud noises.
Rex is a smart boy. He listens to the cues that his foster mom uses with her dog and has started to pick up on them! He's familiar with "go outside" and "go potty" as well as "night night time." He will definitely be a trainable little man.
