Description

Do you know where your well water comes from or how well water may become contaminated? Want to know when you should have your water tested and what to test for? Join us for a workshop to learn about how private wells and septic systems work, maintenance, and about drinking water quality. Learn how to help ensure a safe drinking water supply for yourself and your family! As part of our workshop, we will be facilitating water testing for total coliform bacteria and E. coli. We will also be covering treatment options if contaminants are found. Test kits will be provided in the workshop and samples will need to be returned after the event. Sample return dates will scheduled for at least one week later. ------------------ Registration will open on August 22nd. The event will be $5.00 per person. Please check back to register and see water testing options. **Water testing will be an additional cost. Discounted testing will be available on a first come, first served basis. ------------------ For persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations, please contact the Extension Office (TDD, via Florida Relay Service, 1-800-955-8771) at least five working days prior to the class so that proper consideration may be given to the request.
