after being a subscriber for over some 40 years rounded off. I got in an argument on just what they should be charging us for the weekly paper Sunday to friday. they canceled Saturday papers. so this last year they went from 69.00 a month to 89.00 a month then to 108.00 per month but when i look at our statement they double on month in jan of 89.00 saying its to charge for the new year. I call and get a new one year rate of 13.00 a month tax included. from the kindness of their heart. you can call in too and get this advertised rate. this introductory rate is for all. then the charge is to be 26.00 a month they just changed the introductory price this month.. from their website..... Sunday - Friday Print Delivery + Unlimited Digital Access $17.33/mo. for the first 6 mos. promotional rate, then $26.00/mo. Total $17.33 now see the rate per month after the promotional rate i call in to new service and they give me this price. 26.00 so i call in accounting and they too say its 26.00 a month. though in 2 calls one tried to change and say the 26.00 was a promo rate. but accounts could not find that information. see for your self. since its a long link step through it. statesman.com select subscribe see this on that page Sunday - Friday Print Delivery 17.33 month (4.00 a week) subscribe now see the top right does it say 69. or 89. or 108. per month after 1st year or does it say 26. per month ? if you cant do the math then 108 a month is 1296.00 per year. this i what they were just charging me. your yearly cost is not 312.00 as advertised would you purchase a newspaper yearly for 1300.00 minus Saturday delivery.??? now lets do the math again.. dollar store sells the Sunday paper 1.25 limited quantity or but lets assume you buy sunday paper at 7-11 for 3.00.. that's 52 weeks @3.00 =156.00 then Our work days calculator says there are 260 working days at 1.00 each for a grand total for year of 416.00 retail price with no delivery. that at present charges leave them charging 840.00 labor to deliver the paper. recap present charges cost of paper per year 416.00 delivery : labor to drive past house 840.00 verified by calling in several times what is the price of paper after intro rate. you try it for laughs statesman.com or call you want to be a new subscriber pay what you want not what they bill you for. either you pay what they advertise 26 a month or pay 108 a month their choice. they keep doing...
