Description
Hi there. I recently moved back to Portland and I'm looking to make some new musical connections. I am hoping to find some other people to play rock and roll music with.
Me: 29 year-old man, 20+ years experience with the guitar (acoustic and electric), can avoid embarrassing myself on keys and bass. Can carry a tune with my voice (low tenor-ish?), but not going to star in any operas anytime soon. Born and raised in Portland. Busy day job, not trying to be a professional musician, but certainly open to recording and gigging if the fit is right. Mostly trying to have a fun time, make some noise, drink a beer, meet cool people. Have car, can travel (within reason).
You: a cool person. Any gender, background, musical talent(s). The more the merrier. Let's make a huge band with three drummers and two pianists and a horn section.
I am not committed to any single subgenre or style. I like lots of stuff. The stuff I think is fun to play with a group is usually in the realm of one or more of the following: classic rock, Americana, blues, jazz, country, southern rock, roots rock, classic R&B, soul. Here is a non-exhaustive list of artists I've been listening to recently that I could imagine drawing inspiration from, though the list changes all the time, and I would love to hear what interests you:
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit
Lake Street Dive
Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats
Tedeschi Trucks Band
The Chicks [fka The Dixie Chicks]
Dire Straits
Send me an email if you want to connect and jam sometime. No pressure, no drama. Music is for fun.
