In search of like minded musicians. Are you a guitarist, singer, keyboardist, or bass player looking to join or start something great (cover band)? Are you sick of falling into bands that break up soon after you think all the pieces are there? Are you sick of not finding the right fit? Like me, are you a great player that’s not a pro but much better than intermediate? Do you enjoy playing funk and rock music? If so, continue reading.. My story: I’ve been playing primarily funk and rock my whole life. I keep falling into, or auditioning for, bands where I’m a better player then they are or I’m not quite good enough. The pros I’ve played with make it not fun to play, they scrutinize every tempo or drum hit and it’s just allot of work, I can’t relax. Don’t get me wrong, I could hold my own, but the fun is usually sucked out of the room with their “we need to be perfect”. The other end of the spectrum I seem to fall into… lower level players (intermediate-ish) which are actually more fun to play with but I know the music is not top quality. Well I’m looking for something in between the two. Something fun but also good quality music. The songs listed below are a good representation of what I’m looking for. If you enjoy the same type music, and you have the ability to play them well, then you would be a good fit. The songs listed below I have either played or have no problem pulling them off with a pro-ish level sound. If you’re already an established band and looking for a drummer, and you meet the criteria above…. then I’m your guy. If you want to start something or have some of the pieces already put together, and you meet the criteria above… then I’m your guy. I have a crazy good work ethic and I always come prepared. I’m able to practice as many nights as you need and (no kids and I make my own work hours).. bonus…I have my own practice studio we can use…it’s safe, secure, easy load in/out by loading dock, has Heat and AC. I rent it and it’s huge. I also have a connection for gigs in the city once we’re ready. I don’t want to just jam or practice forever, I want to gig a couple times a month ideally. Please have some sort of dedication to the music because I do. I have Pro gear, late 40’s, and have tons of gigging experience. I’m not looking to play every song note for note but I want to be somewhat close. Sounds cliche but.. It’s not how you play the song with regard to note by note, it’s how you play it with feel or passion, and I’m always being told I have good time and pocket. Bonus if you can listen to a song and be able to play it, or at least the meat and potatoes of it, after a few times listening.. like me. The following Need not respond: -Annoying people (just be a good human) -The guy/gal that has annoying scheduling issues. -Stuck up players -Berkelee boys and girls, no offense but you folks are usually annoying. I just played with a Berklee bass player the last 3 years, and you cats are cra cra.. but I guess if I spent that much money on an education I’d want everyone to hear how good I am as well? Wouldn’t mind throw a couple Pink Floyd songs in the mix too I have sound samples, please also have sound samples so we aren’t wasting each other’s time. I’m very open to the set lists and would hope you would like to choose songs, I don’t want this to be “my band”, I’m looking for equal partners. I hope I’m not coming off like a douchebag, I’m just trying to be honest.
