POSITION: Houseman/Banquet- Set Ups Team DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage REPORTS TO: Catering Director/Banquet Manager HOURLY RATE: $17.50- $19.00 About the club: Established in 1887, Denver Country Club is recognized as the first club west of the Mississippi and one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country. The 585 member, by invitation only private club, hosts an 18 hole golf course, two indoor golf simulators (Foresight Quads), indoor and outdoor tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, croquet, casual and fine dining. The club has a long history of golf championships including the Denver Open (PGA Tour Event 1962-1964), Trans-Mississippi Amateur (upcoming 2022), Pacific Coast Amateur and Curtis Cup (1984). A Golf Course renovation was completed in 2020 - Gil Hanse. The renovation has helped to secure Denver Country Club as one of the premier golf courses in the Western United States. Other benefits per DCC employee handbook. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To create a club atmosphere where absolute satisfaction is our highest priority. JOB SUMMARY: The Houseman performs the physical setup and breakdown of designated special functions, furniture and equipment to ensure outstanding quality and appearance standards of all DCC events JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets up furniture, equipment, audio/visual aides, and other items needed for special club function sheets provided by supervisor Tears down furniture, equipment, audio/visual aides, and other items needed upon completion of each event Maintains inventory of equipment (TV, VCR, audio/visual, podiums, etc.) Responsible for placing furniture in proper configuration as directed by function sheets Responsible for proper placement and appearance of tablecloths and skirts as directed by function sheets. Responsible for the cleanliness of banquet equipment, tables and chairs, podiums Responsible for banquet room cleanliness, stain removal on carpets, dusting and vacuuming for optimal presentation Must have basic IT knowledge for setting up computer, television, audio & visuals for events Must be able to assist and communicate with banquet vendors with proper logistics and set-up of event equipment on-site JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 50 lbs. Computer literate, Audio/Visual technical knowledge Requires standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, carrying of tables, chairs. Labor intensive position. Ability to read and write and understand banquet function sheets. Good interpersonal and communication skills Must be available with a flexible schedule, mornings/evenings, weekdays/weekends, holidays Work more than 40 hours a week when necessary for Club events
