Description
Donald Trump, a candidate in the 2016 Republican Party presidential primaries at the time of Scalia's death, declared his opposition to the Garland nomination when it was announced, maintaining that picking a successor to Scalia should be done by the next president. Trump later released two lists of potential Supreme Court nominees which he would use to guide his Supreme Court nominations if elected president.
Hmmm, Trump helped block Garland's nomination the SCOTUS after the untimely death of Scalia.
Think Garland has an axe to grind? Nothing to see here folks. Plain as the nose on your face.
If he was thinking like a vindictive republican (like Trump), maybe so. But I think he was just doing the job for which he was appointed, just like William Barr when he was AG. And it turns out, he was right. 11 classified documents, some of which where top secret. Good job, Garland. He might have had a hardon when he was nominated, but surely it deflated when he was denied the post.
(Once a crook, always a crook).
