Trump as a businessman was his own boss. Most of his life, he made the decisions and had to answer to no one. His mistake was to run for office. He did it, by the way, just for the attention. He was, and still is, an attention whore. He never expected to win, he just wanted to see himself on TV and see his name plastered all over the newspapers and evening news. When he won the presidency, he no longer was his own boss. He had people to answer to, like 340 million of them. Well, it turns out that didn't go over well. He thought he could live his life as he did as a businessman, make all the decisions, to hell with people who didn't follow his lead. The problem is, the laws he was able to break and get away with as a businessman weren't so easy to get away with now. But that still didn't stop him, his ego had been inflated at this point to a degree where it was just unnatural for him, so he kept his ways. He was impeached twice, he was sued more times than you have fingers and toes, and ultimately was denied a 2nd term as president. He was so enamored with himself, that to this day he maintains he won the 2020 election, when in fact he did not. Today. He left office with documents that 'normal' presidents would have left behind to be archived, which is what the law prescribes. But now because he thinks he can do whatever he wants, he's in big trouble. As much as I loathe the man, he'll probably escape with a slap on the wrist, maybe a fine, but I doubt he does jail time. He thinks he's beyond what the common man is required by law. The worst that will come of this, in Trump's mind, is that he will be denied a chance to run again for that 2nd term he thought he was entitled to before. And that's ok with me.
