Dayo is about 3 1/2 years of age. He (we think) weighs 5 pounds. He is a very friendly family oriented tortoise. Not much disturbs him as he is used to children, dogs, cats, TV, vacuum cleaner noise etc... He has a cage that is approximately 2'x4' that is primarily for sleeping and his safety. It is not adequate to keep him in all the time. He needs room to roam. He will continue to grow, so a large enclosure will be necessary. Proper heat and light fixtures will also be necessary. He really is an easy pet to care for as long as you can meet his needs. Dayo enjoys his outdoor time with fresh grasses, dandelions, clover and sunshine. He needs sun and shade and a safe hide. He needs protection from predators. He has not been left outside, never experienced a storm, or slept outside. Please have a good understanding of his requirements before considering bringing him into your family. He requires proper handling and care. He will continue to grow and can live for many years.
