Job Location: Gypsum, CO; full-time seasonal through December. Wildfire is among the greatest threats to our communities, and as a member of our fire mitigation team, your work will help safeguard people and property by removing and reducing potential fuels. Each day, you will be a part of a team numbering between 3-15 people working primarily in urban/wildland areas to cut shrubs, prune low hanging limbs, and remove entire trees in order to create defensible spaces. You will not be working around active fires, but rather, you will be completing prescribed removals to implement fire mitigation plans developed by our team of arborists in partnership with homeowners and local government agencies. If you have experience with this kind of work already, we’ll reward you for your skills and help you grow as a leader and a tree removal professional. And if you’re new to trees, or looking to ‘branch’ out from a related profession like landscaping, fire mitigation is a great way to start a career in tree removals. All you need is a solid work ethic and a desire to learn. Make no mistake, this is physically demanding work and you’ll be exhausted at the end of each day, but if you’re like us, this is EXACTLY how you like to spend your days—working hard, outdoors in a beautiful setting with a GREAT crew of teammates. You can start immediately, and we will keep you busy through December or until the snow flies, intersecting perfectly with winter work at the ski areas. Pay ranges between $20-$30/hr depending on experience and we offer ample opportunity to increase your wage and grow professionally through in-house and outside training. Sound good? Read on to learn more… WHERE YOU WILL WORK • You will perform services for a wide variety of clients in diverse locations from private gardens and backyards, to public spaces, or remote areas. • The majority of work time is spent in the field operating machinery or hand tools, performing PHC/arboricultural services, clean-up, and being courteous to customers. • Some of your time will be spent indoors to complete paperwork, and attend meetings and trainings. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, personal integrity, and desire to grow personally and professionally • Physical fitness and ability to work outside at all times in all weather conditions are required. Duty modifications may be made during specific seasons throughout the year. • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
