Hailing from Eastern Maine, Merther is a five piece jam band that approaches a multitude of genres. From Keith and Devin’s comfortability in the realms of neo-soul and funk, to James and Cam’s love of psychedelic rock and improv, to Josh’s energetic and powerful rhythmic approach, and everybody’s respect for all the aforementioned, Merther’s music is very much like Maine weather: if you don’t like it, just wait five minutes and you very well may have something entirely different. While sometimes giving audiences unique covers of both well known and obscure songs, Merther’s sets are more often than not comprised of mostly original music. Lyrics that speak to both the joys and the troubles of everyday life as human beings, about perseverance through pain and confusion, as well as embracing the joy of our happiest moments, are common themes within Merther’s music. Despite the sometimes serious nature of these lyrical motifs, you cannot listen to or converse with any of these boys without noticing a rich and unrelenting sense of humor which makes itself evident both musically and lyrically. Altogether, Merther brings an energy of solidarity with and love for each other and ourselves. Their music resonates with people of all stripes and their shows are a great time. There are a variety of table seating groups available as well as open floor space; please select an area that best fits the size of your group. • Doors will open at 6:00pm, with a cash bar in the barn and refreshments available in the adjacent courtyard. • The concert will take place in our Barn, rain or shine. Weather permitting, the big doors will remain open so that we can maximize fresh air circulation during the show. Please dress accordingly! • Masks are required indoors for any who are not yet fully vaccinated, except while eating or drinking. We appreciate your cooperation. • Please carpool if you can!
