The Cleaner position provides the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area. • Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. • Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. • Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities • A cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Performs general cleaning throughout the building(s) as assigned. · Performs cleaning duties throughout buildings to include, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, using various floor machines, carpet vacuuming, restroom cleaning and supply restocking, wiping down vertical and horizontal surfaces, dusting, window cleaning. · Responsible to keep equipment in clean and working condition · Assists with lunchroom setup and cleaning, to include set up/break down of tables, trash removal and other duties as required. · Responsible for handling key/keycard access to buildings while on shift · Collaborates with onsite maintenance staff to perform work · Responds to special requests from building administration, staff, and other users of the facility · Assists with community school activities as required · Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities · Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. · Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS · Knowledge of building custodial work · Ability to perform building custodial and related work · Ability to communicate effectively · Ability to work cooperatively with others · Skill in using the tools, equipment and materials of the trade WORKING CONDITIONS · The work is performed in District buildings PHYSICAL DEMANDS · The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects.
