ABOUT THE BAND Big Yellow Taxi is a New England based band, created to explore the music of Joni Mitchell, from her early folk roots to her jazz influenced compositions. The band features the expressive and soaring voice of Teresa Lorenço. Teresa has performed in folk and rock bands plus burlesque and musical theater. The Big Yellow Taxi band is composed of experienced and talented musicians dedicated to creating an exciting live show. The mission of the band is to present a show that immerses the audience in an intimate and emotional journey through many of Joni's best loved and most powerful songs: a performance beyond mere imitation, to delve into Joni’s musical intensity and genius, to leave audiences entertained, moved and elated. Old Stage at The Essex Experience began its life as a small garden and gazebo in the center of a successful shopping plaza. Each year it would be decorated with Christmas lights for shoppers to appreciate. It was less of a green, and more of a landscaping piece. Flash forward to today, with over 12,000 square feet of grass, and a capacity of 1500 at times, it has firmly planted itself as The Green at the center of all of our campus gatherings Located on the campus that used to be known as The Essex Outlets and Cinema, The Essex Experience is an effort to reclaim retail spaces and turn them into cultural centers. You can spend a whole day here with Black Flannel Brewery, Black Flannel Distillery, Magic Man Cannabis Cafe, Sukho Thai, Uncommon Coffee, Arthound Gallery, The Mad Taco, The Double E Performance Center, Essex Cinemas, and so much more.
