Cliff and Friends ft. Kaitlyn Fay & The Dylan Canterbury Quintet Cliff and Friends Feat. Kaitlyn Fay is a quintet made up of players from the BWC Jazz Orchestra. Drummer and bandleader Cliff Brucker and singer and baritone sax player Kaitlyn Fay have been honing their tight band of virtuosos in the clubs, lounges, and on the summer stages of the Capital District. Rounding out the band are Wayne Hawkins (piano), Dave Shoudy (bass), and Dave Fisk (tenor sax). Kaitlyn brings unique vocals stylings to jazz standards and show tunes. Here is what people are saying about her: "Swinging and sweet - Kaitlyn has a command of her instrument and a musicianship beyond her years. She's a joy and a natural." - Peter Eldridge, New York Voices "With a vocal tone as pure as a crisp snowy morning and as soft as brushed velvet, Kaitlyn Fay stands alone at the forefront of the next generation of singers who not only passionately swing their hearts out but effortlessly transport you into their world; a gem not to be missed." - Dr. Thomas R. Erdmann, Saxophone Today "Kaitlyn possesses a voice that has both intimate charm and great command of the music." - Pete McGuinness, The Royal Bopsters, jazz trombonist, and Grammy-nominated arranger Led by trumpeter Dylan Canterbury, the Dylan Canterbury Quintet is made up of some of the Capital District’s finest jazz musicians. Focusing largely on original compositions, the band takes inspiration from the classic sound of 1960s post-bop jazz while infusing their playing and writing with modernist sensibilities to create a truly unique sound. Their 2020 debut album, Going Places, has received both local and national acclaim and radio airplay. Joining Canterbury for this performance are Brian Patneaude (tenor sax), Wayne Hawkins (piano), Lou Smaldone (bass), and Matt Niedbalski (drums). Sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund, arranged by the Albany Musicians’ Association Local 14 American Federation of Musicians.
