Jamestown celebrates Ukraine!Children’s activities and projects: Decorate a hair wreath, make a sunflower pinwheel, paint a rock, create a chalk drawing, or make a pinch pot. All children are invited to add their handprints to a banner for Ukrainian children currently in exile in Poland. Face painting, traditional Ukrainian hair braiding, and surprise activities are also planned.Live music: New York-based Korinya Folk Band, Hartford and New York-based bandurist Teryn Kuzma, Rhode Island’s own South County Rounders, and Jamestown folk musicians Matt and Judy Bolles. Ukrainian culture: Demonstrations and displays of pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs), embroidery, and images of Ukraine.Food: for young and old, generously provided by Keane’s Wood Fired Catering and Scoops Ice Cream.Proceeds: benefit the Jamestown Ukraine Relief Project in support of humanitarian relief and rebuilding efforts in Ukraine.
