This hands-on workshop series will inspire an in-depth understanding of the design and management of restorative and resilient plant communities. You'll learn a holistic approach to landscape design including how to harness, adapt, and apply essential ecological principles in planting design and management. This series is great for the DIY spirit who's ready to dig in and transform their landscape into a diverse, robust, and beautiful space. SCHEDULE & STRUCTURE Botany is offering two learning cohorts this fall and each will meet once a week for six weeks. One will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30p, and the second will meet Saturday afternoons from 3-5p. The full schedule is below. Each cohort will be capped at seven households, so you'll enjoy an intimate learning environment with easy access to instructors. Each session will build on the one before, so attending each week is highly encouraged. WHAT TO EXPECT You'll become skilled in identifying essential ecological design principles and how they relate to the challenges and opportunities of managed landscapes. We'll explore practical tools and strategies for integrating ecologically vibrant plants into established landscapes. We'll also demystify essential landscape design elements for homeowners and explore regenerative plant combinations suited for urban and suburban settings. Throughout our time together, you'll come to understand your own outdoors on a deeper level as you create a unique landscape plan that goes beyond dots and circles on paper to include long-term management and a custom plant list and design tailored to you.
