Here are the top three stories today in Mobile: The Mobile County Public Defender's Office is attempting to remove Circuit Judge Charles Graddick from presiding over some criminal cases. The temporary judge has a potential conflict of interest with some criminal cases, according to the cases' lawyers. Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich claims that there is no reason to doubt the judge's fairness in these cases. (Fox 10 News)The Mobile Police Department has a larger presence at Mobile County Public Schools in response to threats. Chief John Barber reports that kids make threats every school year against certain schools but the department takes each threat seriously. The threats are reportedly investigated immediately by the department. (Fox 10 News)A Mobile County Sheriff's Office deputy sustained severe injuries when a flashbang grenade exploded in his hand. According to the department, the incident occurred at a home on Cedar Avenue while the department was performing a drug raid. The flashbang caused significant damage to the deputy's hand and another deputy sustained facial injuries from shrapnel. The deputies received treatment at a local hospital.
