It’s okay to say you’re a broke ass who can’t afford a rehoming fee. Do you know how many animals get rehomed for free and end up in horrible conditions? Killed? Bread to death or kept in disgusting environments? If you don’t like the rehoming fees, don’t get a pet. Emergency care is expensive and not everyone is approved for Care Credit. If you can’t afford the initial fee for the pet then you obviously can’t afford to care for it properly. First vaccines plus dewormings, flea and heartworm treatments aren’t cheap. Pets in general aren’t cheap.
