Description
First Congregational Church in Hanover seeks an organized, friendly, and caring person to maintain the physical facilities of the church, consisting of an historic sanctuary, parish hall and parsonage.
Essential Functions:
Ensure all church facilities and grounds are well maintained and ready for Sunday services and mid-week events
Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work
Work with the Senior Pastor and Board of Trustees to report problems, solutions and costs associated with projects not approved in the budget, and provide input to development of the annual budget
Schedule and coordinate work with outside contractors, as necessary
Attend Board of Trustees Meetings to report on progress, etc.
Manage and perform general maintenance and repair of facilities (including but not limited to building inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, landscape, waste management and security
Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment on an on-going basis
Prepare for groups using the church, including setting up, breaking down and cleaning up.
Work Hours and Schedule: Flexible Hours 10- 15 hours per week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to perform regular maintenance and repair tasks; excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills. Ability to use a computer for scheduling, reporting, etc.
