Does your company have “continued” driver training? Do your drivers meet the grade as far as CSA scores and road side inspections? The biggest question is are they safety aware? Many companies and carriers in the trucking industry today have drivers in need of continued driver training courses. Many companies and carriers hire a driver and send them out on runs that that driver may not actually be prepared for. How many times have you heard of a driver being put out of service for log violations, improper pre-trip or very simple things that could have been avoided with a little more training by his or her company? Many of the larger companies take the “liability sign off” route. They give the driver a quick briefing and a hand out that the driver signs off on and pronounces that driver trained. This doesn’t always work. We offer training in many areas that are a benefit to drivers, carriers and companies alike. We can come to your facility or you can come to our classroom setting which can handle up to 25 drivers or driver trainers per class. Our lessons are geared towards the modern driver and issues that confront the drivers on the road today. Something as simple as a speeding ticket is no longer “simple” for the CDL drivers of today. Many of the things that cause drivers and companies to pay thousands in fines or repairs can be avoided with a little extra training. We offer custom training for companies and carriers, designing the class sessions to fit the specific needs of our clients. We also offer driver assessments, done on a one on one basis to give the employer a snapshot of its employees’ current driving habits and skills. All training and assessments are completed by driver trainers and instructors with many years of over the road experience and many different equipment platforms. Some are also nationally certified with specific skills to train new or seasoned drivers. If you are an OTR driver, ask yourself, “Are my skills and safety awareness at a confident level for the job I’m doing?” “Have I had any “close” calls?” If you are a company owner or safety director, ask yourself, “Are my drivers in need of training, do they perform their jobs safely and avoid unneeded DOT fines and speeding tickets?” “Are they damaging equipment or having road incidents?” For both driver and company owner, “How are my CSA scores?” That may tell you a lot. Contact us today to see if we can help improve your drivers’ efficiency and safety awareness.
