DCS is looking to hire a skilled and highly motivated Herbicide Manager. This position will be responsible for the Asset Maintenance Business Unit project’s day-to-day management of herbicide and pesticide application to ensure the contract requirements are met in a safe, dependable, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing manner as directed by the Project Manager. General responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: ensure application of herbicide and records of herbicide application are conducted per FDACS and FDOT standards; perform systematic, routine project condition assessments to determine work-needs and execute work plans; perform in-progress and work completed operations to ensure contractual compliance; be responsible for the proper management and inventory of materials, fleet, equipment, and supplies; maintain proper record of fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide product information; and perform all other duties as assigned. In addition, all DCS employees demonstrate a positive safety culture and produce quality workmanship by performing responsibilities in full compliance with all company and governing agency policies, procedures, and guidelines; and report and document any suspicious activity, incidents, work needs, and safety concerns. Requirements: • 3 - 5 years’ previous management or supervisory experience • 3 - 5 years’ herbicide application experience • High School Diploma / GED required; Associates degree, vocational certificate, or equivalent industry experience preferred • Intermediate knowledge in MS Office software including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word • Proficient knowledge in automotive maintenance • Proficient knowledge in herbicide application methods, equipment, and calibration • Proficient knowledge in the understanding of weed, grass and brush types • Proficient knowledge in the use of herbicide and pesticide chemicals used, what they control, and all applicable safety requirements • Proficient knowledge in the use of manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and operating equipment • Strong leadership skills • Be able to comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy Certificates & Licenses: • State of Florida CORE Pesticide Applicator required • State of Florida Right of Way Pest Control Applicator required • State of Florida Aquatic Pest Control Applicator required • Green Industries Best Management Practices required • State of Florida Natural Area Weed Management preferred • State of Florida Lawn and Ornamental Pesticide Applicator preferred • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred • Advance Maintenance of Traffic preferred • First Aid / CPR preferred • NPDES Stormwater Illicit Discharge, Detection, and Elimination Training preferred
