Dan Seavey was a sailor, fisherman, farmer, saloon keeper, prospector, US marshal, thief, poacher, smuggler, hijacker, human trafficker, and timber pirate on the Great Lakes in the late 19th to early 20th century. He is the only person ever to be arrested for piracy on Lake Michigan.
Bruce Fenner is a retired United Methodist clergyperson of the Wisconsin Conference. He served pastorates in Monroe, Green Bay, and Oshkosh before entering chaplaincy with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Bruce was appointed the ecclesiastical endorser for the United Methodist Church at the conclusion of his fields of ministry (e.g. military, hospital, hospice, prison and pastoral counseling). Bruce and his wife Chris moved to Egg Harbor in February 2018. For the next four tourist seasons he worked as a docent at Door County Maritime Museum's Cana Island Lighthouse. It was here that he was introduced to the character we will learn about this evening: Roaring Dan Seavey, the Pirate of the Great Lakes.
