Guitarist and Bassist pair seeking Drummer etc.

Meets

Jersey City NJ

Description

Hi, everyone, how are you doing? We are a motivated Rhythm/lead guitarist and Bassist looking for a drummer or other collaborators for a mixed originals and covers project. We're located in Jersey City, and willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right fit. No rehearsal space currently booked, though it would be first priority to find one in a central location. Our main focus is to put together a lean and gigable set as quickly as possible to give a shared live foundation before turning our focus more to writing new material. Influences are varied, but for a trio/quartet think sprinklings of The Who, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rush, R.E.M., Pixies, Gaslight Anthem, Modest Mouse and early Grateful Dead. We're looking for a drummer that can provide a consistent pop/rock-scaffolding while still interested and able to stretch out into more conversational and jazzier space. Enthuesiasm is never a bad thing. Despite some prog influences, we don't think things necessarily need to be complex to be captivating, and are more interested in tight and interesting arrangement to overly technical writing. Similarly, we'd like the music to retain it's roots in dance and storytelling. One of us has many years of songwriting and solo performance under their belt and can provide examples of that writing on request, though looking to go in a fresh direction for sound and subject matter. We're both working full time in addition to this project, but would like to meet to rehearse at least once a week at a set time, and ideally for a second more flexibly scheduled rehearsal. Once we have the material on it's feet, gigging as regularly as possible but shooting for at least once a month. Age, style, sex doesn't matter to us so if you think we could gel please don't hesitate to reach out and we can give it a shot. Not looking for a substance heavy space, but anyone that can keep it together professionally is fine regardless of personal life. Love and light
