Description
It All Started On Bainbridge...Ten years ago we started Optimist on Bainbridge Island and premiered our first film Living on One Dollar to a sold out Lynwood Theater. Now we are excited to return home with a decade of stories, impact and our new film: Free to Care.
Short Documentary ProgramJoin us for an evening of film and celebration. We’ll be screening three of our short documentaries, which feature inspiring women transforming their communities. These films are appropriate for all ages but cover sometimes heavy and emotional topics.
Free To Care (Mountainfilm 2022 - Bainbridge Premiere!)
The Undocumented Lawyer (Tribeca 2020 - HBO Originals)
Rosa - These Storms (SIFF 2015 - National Geographic)
The evening will include a Q&A with Bainbridge native Zach Ingrasci & Chris Temple, co-founders of Optimist, and Jenna Kelly, producer at Optimist.
In addition, Tarra Simmons, Washington House Representative for District 23 (Bainbridge’s district), will join us to share her journey from incarceration to elected official and her ongoing work for prison reform in Washington State.
Your Tickets and Donations Support Our Work At OptimistAll ticket proceeds will benefit Optimist and we invite any additional tax-deductible donations to support our general operating fundraising efforts. You can donate in the ticket checkout or on our website. Your support allows us to continue creating films for impact that change lives, minds and policies. Believing progress is possible isn't naive. It's necessary.
