Description

Naloxone (Narcan™) is an opiate antidote which reverses an opioid overdose in much the same manner as an EpiPen (epinephrine injection) reverses an allergic reaction. Opioids include heroin, fentanyl, methadone, as well as prescription pain pills like OxyContin, Percocet, and Vicodin. When a person is overdosing from an opioid, their central nervous system and respiration system is depressed and breathing slows or stops. All participants will be provided with Narcan™ Nasal Spray, Fentanyl Test Strips, and Deterra Drug Disposal Pouches.
