Description

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a 7.5 hour evidence-based course that teaches adults how to help an adolescent (12-18) who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. Content includes common mental health challenges for youth, typical adolescent development, and a 5-step action plan to help young people in both non-crisis and crisis situations (including suicidality). The full day, in-person program is presented by SJC Cares and made possible through the generous support of Beacon Health System for residents of St. Joseph County, IN. Attendees will also receive a manual. Those who wish to receive a certificate in this course are required to take a pre-test and pass a post-test provided by the National Council for Mental Wellness and must be present for the entire course. Course value: $175.
