Description
This Young Diplomat (YD) seminar is open to young girls and boys (ages 8 – 13) eager to learn more than table manners, such as navigating unique and awaked social scenarios. Our YD seminar is designed to be fun and educational, and while experiencing interactive activities teaching attendees to manage their manners. As well as gaining a clear understanding of the rules of etiquette, harnessing their emotions, modeling correct behavior, controlling conflict, demonstrating Empathy for others, creating positive relationships, and making decisions aligned with their values and beliefs. Seminar agenda part 1 (Saturday, October 1, 2022) – 12:30 – 4:30 PM 12:15 - 12:30 Arrival at the Sycamore Room 12:30 - 12:45 Young Diplomats introductions 12:45 - 1:15 Why manners and rules of etiquette matter for today's youth 1:15 - 1:40 Making a powerful introduction (using the eight ingredients of an introduction) 1:40 - 2:00 Perception management (how we see ourselves vs. how others see us) 2:00 - 2:15 break of our minds and snack (provided) 2:00 - 2:30 ABC of Table Manners 2:45 - 3:00 Understanding an Act of Kindness and having Empathy for others 3:00 - 3: 30 Building self-investment awareness; self-assessment, self-esteem, self- discipline, self-confidence, and self-worth 3:30 - 4:30 Etiquette and Leadership Jeopardy game - reinforcement of topics 4:30 - 4:45 Young Diplomats Seminar Certificate Presentations Seminar agenda part 2 (Sunday, October 2, 2022): 1:00 – 4:00 PM 1) Dining like a diplomate at Sullivan's Steakhouse (a) Please let us know if you wish for your Young Diplomat to experience a five-course meal at one of Indianapolis's four-star restaurants. Sullivan's Steakhouse at Keystone Crossing (b) This training session is optionable - more information to follow upon registration Cost: Seminar part 1: $65.00 (Presentation, snack, material, and completion certificate) Seminar part 2: $55.00 (four-course meal and gratuity) - optional event. Note: 1) Young Diplomat's must attend part 1 in order to to attend part 2.
